Camp Wekeela Enrollment Terms & Conditions

Camp Programs

Camp Wekeela, for your convenience, runs a 7 week session, a 4 week session, a 3 week second session, and two separate 2 week rookie camp session, for boys and girls, ages 6 to 16. In any selected session a camper will experience a program of varied and engaging activities, permitting growth and skill development in his or her area of interest. There are also optional program elements, like trips, and some age requirements, which incur separate charges.

Camp Fees

The camp fee covers the costs to the camper for basic enrollment, room and board, and laundry. The camp only provides linens for international campers.

There is also a non-refundable activity expense account for each camper. The amount of this account, which must be deposited by May 1, prior to the start of camp, is $380 for the full season, or $190 for the first session or $160 for the second session or $95 for a rookie (two week session). This account covers the following expenses inclusively: general store purchases, portrait and bunk photo, yearbook, field trips and rain day trips such as movies and/or bowling and bussing. The camp does not provide coverage of medical costs. Each camper must have medical/accident insurance as a prerequisite for enrollment to Camp Wekeela.

Fees for all programs, including optional special programs, like horseback riding and S.C.U.B.A., are found on the optional camper program form.

Methods of Payment

We honor current MasterCard and VISA credit cards, as well as payment by checks drawn on American banks only, or by travelers’ cheques. We do not honor American Express card. The application provides space for supplying all necessary current charge card information. Be sure to include camper’s name in all transactions. For wire transfers please contact Camp Wekeela. *Note that any declined or expired charges will be assessed a penalty fee of $50 per transaction.

Refunds and Session Changes

Camp Wekeela reserves the right in its discretion to cancel enrollment if it deems cancellation to be in the best interests of the Camp or of the camper. I realize that no environment is risk-free and I have instructed my child on the importance of abiding by the Camp’s rules. My child and I both agree that my child is familiar with these rules and will obey them. I understand and agree to abide by the applicable pricing as noted on the enclosed date and fee card. The Director reserves the right to withdraw any camper whose influence or actions are deemed unsatisfactory to the Camp or who will not live within the rules and policies of the Camp. I agree that, if such expulsion occurs, I will be entitled to no refund or reduction of fees. I agree that, if I do not pay the fees as spelled out in this agreement, and according to the terms hereof, and it becomes necessary for Camp Wekeela to seek collection, I will beresponsible for the payment of any additional costs for collection, including such reasonable legal fees and court costs as might be incurred. I also agree that, if MaineWekeelaCo, LLC, files any action against me arising out of this agreement, and if service of suit papers is made on me as hereafter provided, the courts of basic jurisdiction of Oxford County, Maine shall have personal jurisdiction over me, and Oxford County, Maine shall be a place or proper venue of any such action.

If I am served with legal papers by certified mail, return receipt requested, or if such service is attempted and refused, and legal papers are then sent to me through the ordinary United States mail, that will constitute valid personal service upon me so as to confer personal jurisdiction over me.

If you withdraw your child prior to Dec 15th, you will receive a full refund less a $500 administrative fee. There are no refunds after December 15th. Due to fixed costs and expenditures based on definite enrollment and date, no refunds or reductions can be made for campers arriving at camp late or departing early. Campers changing from one program to another, space permitting, after March 1st will be charged a change of session fee of $100.

Responsibility & Liability

My child has permission to participate in all camp programs, camp trips and special outings planned and supervised by Camp Wekeela.

I understand that there might be risks and dangers connected with some of the activities that are conducted at MaineWekeelaCo, LLC. However, I release MaineWekeelaCo, LLC and its Directors, staff and all employees from any legal actions or claims which the child or I, as parent or guardian, have, or might have, for any damage or injury to my child or loss or damage of personal property as a result of being a camper at Camp Wekeela or from participating in any activity that results in damage or injury to my child or loss or damage of personal property unless caused by the negligence or willful misconduct of MaineWekeelaCo, LLC. I also give MaineWekeelaCo, LLC, permission to reproduce and publish and photograph, video or record any likeness of my child for advertising and promotional purposes.

Any dispute concerning this contract, the brochure, or any other advertising materials concerning the program itself, will be resolved exclusively by arbitration in the State of Maine pursuant to the then current rules of the American Arbitration Association. Maine substantive law will apply to all issues concerning any such dispute.

Medical Authorization

In the event I cannot be reached in an emergency when my child is under Camp Wekeela supervision, I hereby give permission to the physician selected by the Camp Wekeela Directors to hospitalize, secure proper treatment for, and or order medications, injections, anesthesia, or surgery for my child.
